S. Jon Mason

Dr. Mason is the senior member of Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon. A native Oregonian, he earned a Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine from Oregon State University. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 1975. Dr. Mason completed a residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland and received gastroenterology training at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He spent the next six years on active duty in the U.S. Army and eventually settled into private practice in 1984.

Dr. Mason educates local physicians and various groups about the science and the practice of gastroenterology. He is also on the Willamette Falls Board of Directors.

Dr. Mason is married and has four grown children, and four granddaughters. In his free time, he enjoys long distance walking, and listening to and collecting jazz and rock music.
