Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL)

Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) occurs when there is damage to the inner ear or to the nerve between the inner ear and the brain. SNHL can be caused by noise exposure, trauma, aging, genetics, etc. People with SNHL notice a reduction in volume and often report a loss of clarity. Most hearing aid wearers have SNHL.
