Liver & Pancreas Surgery

The Oregon Clinic provides comprehensive treatment of conditions that affect the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, duodenum, or bile ducts.

Our surgeons have extensive experience treating serious liver and pancreas conditions and perform a wide range of non-surgical, minimally invasive and open surgical therapies to treat a variety of disorders of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts.

We are proud to have pioneered the use of laparoscopic techniques in treating liver and pancreas diseases, including liver resection, radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors, as well as minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. We have broad experience and perform a large number of complex procedures, including open surgery when needed. This experience helps make treating these conditions easier and safer for patients.

Experience

As a nationally-recognized and high-volume center with fellowship-trained surgeons, we have the experience to deliver optimal results and achieve the best outcomes. A list of our publications and national presentations can be seen here.

Committed to Education

Our surgeons actively participate in national and international liver and pancreas specialty societies and are members of national committees with leadership roles in research, education, and training. Each year, they are recruited to teach educational programs on a national level in minimally invasive liver and pancreas surgery techniques and intraoperative ultrasound. Our Liver and Pancreas Surgical Fellowship program is one of about 20 accredited advanced training programs focused on liver and pancreas surgery in the country.

Coordination of Care

We work with primary care physicians to coordinate all aspects of a patient’s care. Our team prides itself on being available at any time to patients and doctors with questions or concerns. Communication with the patient and their care team is essential to achieve optimal outcomes, so prompt letters and phone calls to referring physicians are a priority to us.

Multi-Disciplinary Team

Our surgeons are part of a team of highly skilled specialists at our center including medical and radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, and diagnostic and interventional radiologists. We meet on a weekly basis with the interdisciplinary group to review cases and guide management for patients with complex diseases of the liver, bile duct, and pancreas.

Our state-of-the-art therapies ensure that our patients will receive the most advanced care.
